Today, Weston first team started their new campaign in their first training session ahead of the 20/21 season. It will be the second year in the Southern League South for the Seagulls as they seek promotion, with hopes on returning to the Conference South.
The day started with a morning run, seeing the players run from the beach huts all the way to Marine Lake. After this, players and coaching staff met with supporters that came to the Grand Pier, getting publicity images of the players with their young fans.
The team then headed back to the Optima, starting with fitness drills to get back into shape for the new season. New signings: Lewis Hall, Keiran Thomas and Matt Jones joined in for the first time with the squad ahead of the new season, which is hopefully set to start up again in early September.
Before heading inside, as heavy July rain hit, the squad played a training match on the 3G facility, where players were given the chance to show to the coaching staff what they can offer to the team, and what positions and tactics work best for them.
